Da oltre 6 anni i Liberty X erano una delle band che portava avanti il pop britannico con successi ormai altalenanti. Con alle spalle diverse hit come "Just a littele" e "Being Somebody", dopo aver avuto un buon successo in patria, l'ultimo album "X" (davvero un bell'album! Se non si tiene conto che era pieno di vecchie hit, decisione voluta dalla nuova etichetta che li aveva messi sotto contratto) è stato un mezzo flop, durato in chart solo un paio di settimane. A due giorni dall'annullamento del comeback dei 5ive, ecco un altro comunicato stampa:
"We want to let the fans know that Liberty X won't be doing any more recording together. All of us have separate projects we're working on, and are excited about. "We're still the best of friends and we'll still be doing all the dates on the current club tour. Also, we still intend to come together sometimes as Liberty X for one-off special events. We've had 6 fantastic years recording as Liberty X, we couldn't have imagined when we lost out in 'Popstars' that we'd still be there, and get a N°1 record and Brit Award along the way! "Thanks for all the truly magnificent support you fans have given us, and hope to see you at the shows! Love, Jessica, Kelly, Kevin, Michelle and Tony."
E anche l'ultima grande popband mista se ne va...davvero un peccato (a parte l'ultimo video "X" che preannunciava la loro fine...visto il low budget e la #46 raggiunta in chart...nonostante una canzone FAVOLOSA!). Ricordiamoli con un video degno:
